Berluti has evolved from its humble roots (started in 1895 by an Italian immigrant) to the preferred bespoke shoemaker for aristocrats, dapper entertainers, and well-heeled types who appreciate the quality (it takes an hour of rubbing with essential oils for a cobbler to produce the final color of each shoe). Their ready-to-wear lines start at $1,100; made-to-order shoes start around $5,700.
Since 1895, Alessandro Berluti’s dynasty has been creating perfectly fitted bespoke, made-to-measure, and ready-to-wear shoes. The Fil d’Ariane style is hand-stitched with waxed thread, complete with nautically inspired knots. There’s also an in-store polisher who can change the shading of leather, should you desire. Prices upon request.
