Opened by an American jewelry designer and a French U.N. translator, this Lower East Side shop offers a frequently changing, unpredictable hodgepodge of products to dress both body and home. In the clothing department, raw Japanese denim by Naked & Famous hangs next to vintage fur stoles and old Coach bags. A display of metallic leather jewelry rolls and makeup cases by Graphic Image sit near a plastic see-through table holding the cash register, along with necklaces made of reclaimed ivory and semi-precious jewels. For the apartment, there are Brazilian cowskin rugs, decorative cushions from South Africa that look like giant pebbles, wind-up phones from the 1950s, and Mongolian fur pillows. And dotting the wide, white, gallery-like store are a variety of other offbeat, interesting finds like super modern Boontje lamps, sturdy furniture from the 1950s, and a cabinet full of fancy French soaps by La Compagnie de Provence and Côté Bastide.
