Christina, the owner of Blue, is clearly a talented and very creative designer which is why I ordered a custom wedding dress from her.
After my second fitting I was thrilled with the progress that was made on my dress. I went in for my third fitting, mind you this is 6 weeks before my wedding date, and the dress was completely changed! I was very upset and she became extremely abrasive and yelled at me for not understanding.
I found communicating with her very difficult. It seemed as though she realized I was coming in for a fitting an hour before I got there and threw something together for me to try on. I ended up at the mercy of Klienfeld. Unless you are buying a design that is already created, I would not recommend working with her on a custom creation.
Christina has a great line of unusual and sophisticated dresses. She is also abrasive, doesn't listen, and I think a little lazy. I commissioned her in February to make my wedding dress for Oct. Seems like enough time, right? I went in for fittings in Feb. March. June and my dress STILL wasn't done when I came to pick it up on Labor day. She ultimately had to ship it. Just to be clear - I never changed my mind about what I wanted or anything like that. My weight stayed the same so that was not a problem. She just kept putting me off. I wish I could say when the dress arrived it was perfect. Nope. I had to pay $150 on alterations, some on changes Christina and I had specifically talked about and she had not done. Not only that, there were seams that were sloppy and loose threads all over the place. In short, it looked cheap and homemade. (cheap it certainly was not) If you are prepared to be really demanding and provide constant monitoring, maybe it's worth it if you like her designs. Otherwise, save yourself the headache.
