Though its sleek, affordable housewares are in department stores nationwide, Bodum’s only U.S. stand-alone store is this airy, modular space in the meatpacking district. In stock are more than twenty styles of its signature glass-and-stainless-steel coffee and tea presses with sizes ranging from a convenient single-serving unit to a 32-ounce model. Shoppers can observe the presses in action and refuel in the front-of-store café, but Bodum is more than caffeine junkie central. It’s also a penny-pincher’s go-to place for kitchen gizmos and colorful stationery from Swedish company Ordning & Reda. — Valerie Denny
