At 40 years old, this 10,000-square-foot store is one of the oldest of its kind along a stretch of Bowery that qualifies as a veritable Lighting Row. The sheer size of its collection befits its age, though the shop maintains a contemporary edge. The otherwise traditional assortment of stained-glass desk lamps, multitiered crystal chandeliers, and discreet wall fixtures is generously peppered with lamps flaunting geometric designs, alienlike bendable appendages, and bizarre embellishments like a red transparent chandelier reminiscent of a child’s paper cutout. Furniture is a similar combination of traditional and modern: faux Eames chairs along with a Victorian-era lounge chair and a black marble dining room set next to a more restrained Georgian set inlaid with painted tiles. Prices range from two figures for a cup-shaped wall fixture all the way to five figures for an elaborate dining room set with chairs.
