For men who find J.Crew a bit too fratty and APC a smidge too French, there's a shop in Williamsburg that's been quietly carving out a dapper little niche. Housed in a white-walled loft near the BQE, Brooklyn Tailors carries its own limited, handmade line of bespoke and ready-to-wear menswear. The collection is anchored by slim-fitting twill and chambray shirts, button-downs patterned with bright checks and muted plaids, and classic trousers, all versatile enough to satisfy both the Soho office drone with the NPR tote and the part-time punk ordering a PBR at the bar. The shop's other attractions include trim suits, tuxedos, and dress shirts "long enough to tuck in, short enough to untuck." Custom fittings are available during store hours and by appointment.
