If you're still smarting from that long-ago day your mother ruthlessly dragged you through the aisles of the Burlington Coat Factory determined to find the perfect end-of-season bargain, get over it. Burlington is, frankly, a fashion-conscious New Yorker's retail dream: A never-ending designer overstock sale, with an inventory skewed more toward the majority fashion view than the idiosyncratic or singular. And true to its PR, the store stocks more than just coats; men's and women's sport, casual, and formal apparel lead the pack, with products from department-store familiars like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Michael by Michael Kors, DKNY, Nautica, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger and Jones New York. Watch for occasional surprises too, like a cache of men's AG jeans, on sale for about a third of their suggested retail price. There's also a huge selection of children’s clothing, from infants to teens. Despite minor imperfections—moderate disorganization, racks so crammed they can be hard to pick through, a sub-pleasing overall aesthetic—it all adds up to more fashion bang for less bucks. The store gives its competitors a run for their money, providing a better selection than nearby TJ Maxx or Filene's and, unlike Century 21, remaining relatively un-crowded and tourist-free.Sales

The store sells men's and women's name-brand dress shoes and sneakers by New Balance, Saucony, K Swiss, Hush Puppies, Rockport, Sketchers, and Aerosoles, among others.
