Designer and Parsons grad Annika Salame hand-makes all of the wooden bangles, elaborately beaded bracelets, and hammered silver earrings on-sale here. An avid collector of vintage clothing and jewelry, Salame strives to give her pieces an antique, slightly-worn feel, and her goal is aided by her displays: Eschewing glass shelves or cabinets, she shows her necklaces and bracelets on stretches of black velvet nailed to the store walls. To help customers understand larger, more complicated pieces—like a huge chain of golden circles pierced to interlock at random intervals—Salame often fastens her own clothes to the wall, then decorates the outfit with her jewelry. The unique shopping experience matches the selection: Almost everything here is one-of-a-kind.
