Whether you're hoofing on Broadway, practicing for your moment in the spotlight, or just an adult-education regular, your dance wardrobe and accessories can be found here. Performers of every genre, gender, and decade of life—from tap-happy preschoolers to golden-age vaudvilleans—can outfit themselves from head to toe shoes at Capezio's 7,000-square-foot flagship store, which boasts dance-on wood floors and windows overlooking the theater district. Mostly dancers themselves, the sales staff help customers find the right items for ballet, jazz, tap, and modern among the profusion of leotards, unitards, tights and knit warm-ups in myriad styles, colors and fabric. Broadway and Hollywood pros and costumiers come for the custom tights and shoe department (Capezio did all the whimsical shoes and neon tights for the movie "Elf," and has outfitted most Broadway musicals for decades.) Brides-to-be turn to the footwear giant for elegant white ballet slippers. There's also plenty of yoga clothing, in sizes up to plus-4X. Little ones will do a grand jete for the hair accessories, jewelry, and dance bags, while a collection of classic ballets and how-to DVDs will inspire the non-dancer. Two bulletin boards are available for customers to post performance flyers, class calendars and professional instruction business cards.
