This store has relocated to 20 Greene Street.
The interior of Carson Street Clothiers, opened by former lawyers Matt Breen and Brian Trunzo, could easily pass as a gentlemen’s lounge — one that just happens to be stocked with menswear. The warm lighting, wooden accents, and rustic décor give this spacious Soho boutique a distinctly masculine feel. The merchandise is a balanced mix of Euro dandy and classic Americana: Here, one can find items like Scottish-knit cardigans, leather sneakers, boldly patterned swim trunks, and an array of blazers and oxford shirts. The store carries staple luxury menswear brands like Ovadia & Sons and Michael Bastian, as well as its own in-house label. Yet despite its debonair aesthetic, Carson Street Clothiers never verges on pretentiousness: After trying on a jacket or ten, guys can choose to relax on one of the store’s buttery leather couches and enjoy a free beer.
