Most of the vintage costume-jewelry pieces at this Upper East Side shop have previously been worn only on the Paris and Milan runways during the sixties, seventies, or eighties. Structured bags in exotic skins are even older—from the thirties through the fifties. The diverse jewelry is breathtaking, from a $165 pair of YSL gold-plated clip-on earrings to an $8,000 rare Chanel Verdura necklace. Fendi necklaces and Pucci cuffs share display space with antique French chains and Karl Lagerfeld’s famous matte-washed gold pieces. For something a bit different, there are braided mesh bangles by Sarah Cavender, as well as chunky ivory bracelets and spiky wooden necklaces from Artwear. The shopkeepers can repair jewelry or alter a piece if you, say, prefer silver over gold. Order a private jewelry party, and the staff can even pack the trinkets into trunks and bring them to you for a night of shopping with your closest friends.
