Operated by the Jewish Museum but located inside the Rand House next door, Celebrations has been the museum's design-centric retail outpost since 1996, when it split from the museum's main Cooper Shop. The collection here is more carefully curated than the Cooper Shop, with high-end ceremonial Judaica objects imported from all over the world like Kiddush cups, candlesticks, and dreidels. The more than two dozen hand-loomed tallit (prayer shawls) festooned with ribbons and beads lining the far wall are particularly eye-catching, though the women's silver necklaces, bracelets, and earrings—many crafted by Israeli artists—are just as worthy of your attention. And though displays change seasonally, the gift registry and extensive selection of ketubbot (marriage contracts) keep couples streaming in every Sunday year-round.Extra
A smaller selection of design pieces, as well as items from the museum’s main shop, can be found at the Jewish Museum Shop at The JCC across town.
