London-raised cashmere designer Christopher Fischer’s storefront on Madison Avenue offers something both for mothers dropping their children off at school and the casual Upper East Side shopper. Seasonal leather purses and surprisingly edgy jewelry (no pearls here) sit alongside the brand’s cashmere sweaters, draped cardigans, loose scarves, and asymmetrical dresses—in other words, everything you might need to create the perfectly layered look. The one-room boutique also carries weekend and work wear in blends of merino or alpaca wool, along with the designer’s black label line, which adds on fur and other fabrics for heavier textures. The Upper East Side boutique is smaller than the sprawling and fully stocked Soho shop (though it does carry some home goods like cashmere blankets), yet it still delivers the brand’s high-quality cashmere goods in a wide range of colors, not to mention pairs of bright-red jeans to pair with them.
