Many of the finds at this sprawling antique shop come from homes nearby; consequently, most of the 2,000 square-foot space is occupied with dated furniture that recalls grandma’s Bronx walk-up. Recognizable from the sidewalk by its red awning and grey-blue paint job, the store stocks plenty of hardwood furniture pieces from the 1930s and 1940s, especially tables, armoires, and seating, though you’ll also find the occasional decorative mirror or lamp. The real draw is the serious collection of oak, mahogany, and walnut china cabinets—reasonably priced around $325 to $550. Despite its location several blocks from the subway, the operation sees fairly steady traffic from eagle-eyed bargain hunters, especially on the weekends. Classic also runs a comprehensive restoration business out of a nearby workshop.
