Plenty of East Village health food stores offer organic produce, dried herbs and essential oils, but most don't have the broad selection of staples that makes for one-stop shopping. This all-natural market stocks a smattering of all of the above, as well as most of the weekly shopping list basics. A fairly large selection of organic, freshly-spritzed vegetables and unbruised fruit is up at the front, with several choices of lettuces, leafy greens, apples, onions and potatoes. Two rows of display racks stretch to the back of the narrow store and are piled high with cereals, sauces, teas, and packaged food, mostly from familiar brands—Newman Organics, Kashi, Health Valley—and bulk dry goods are stored in a wall of dispensers holding at least twenty kinds of grains and rice, granolas, dried fruits, and even organic cat chow. Fresh foods include organic meats, free-range eggs, cheese, and tofu, as well as dairy-free, vegan and macrobiotic goods.
