This tiny store’s boxy, gray room is barren except for a full-length mirror and two merchandise cases stocked with fourteen-karat-gold creations. It’s clearly a strategic move to bring out the bling in Alexa Garner Sidaris’s jewelry—pieces influenced by the designer’s travels to the East: carved Om and Egyptian guardian-eye necklaces. Sidaris and co-owner Alexis Mack fled Los Angeles in 2006. Yet whiffs of their rock-and-roll roots remain. — Melissa Noble
