Look for a large selection of Paul Frank plus designer vintage clothes from French Kitty by Fine and Emily the Strange—don’t miss the old rock tees.

Women's Clothing

Great for getting in touch with your inner gum-snapping grrrl punk-rocker: baby tees with vintage-rock transfers, vintage dresses, and a huge collection of hard-to-find Paul Frank stuff. It's difficult to leave this fuzzy-leopard-print Eden without a bag in hand.

I shop (alot!) in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Crush is a total shopping experience... it's the only shop I can think of that is as unique in its range of merchandise and that still has an old-school, personal service vibe (the owner once lent me her own tank top so I could try on a shirt!). Lots of color, music, and a mix of people. It's probably the only place where I regularly find things for myself (French Kitty and the occasional vintage designer dress) and literally ANYone I'm buying a gift for (rare mens Paul Frank boxers, baby onesy with Ramones transfer not sold anywhere else, 1980s pop culture finds). It also carries a weird dash of useful objects (like those tiny super-strong magnets!). It's pretty rare to still find stores in NYC that seem to be the unique vision of the owner and that also have a welcoming vibe rather than being a snooty boutique with one type of trendy item. The store on Smith St just closed but is moving to Manhattan, not sure where yet. I'll miss it til it reopens.
