Davidoff of Geneva

Profile
The Davidoff family, which has been selling tobacco for over a hundred years, has become an international success through the hard work of Zino Davidoff, who worked and studied the trade in tobacco-rich countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Cuba. The brand remains one of the most popular cigars in America and their flagship store, tucked into a corner of the Time Warner Center, neatly stocks Davidoff’s (now manufactured in the Dominican Republic) and their competitors in a glass-walled walk-in humidor. The location has a certain lack of charm requisite with most mall stores: Too glossy, too clean, too bright. But the smokers’ lounge in back is comfortable and keeps both weekday and weekend hours. It’s also a nice digression from the typical Indian-laden tobacco shop and a great place for the novice smoker to purchase a Cartier pen or an ashtray designed by S.T. Dupont.
