Profile
This small, deliberately unaffected space caters to those looking to accessorize an upscale home with unique, worldly goods. Latin for “home,” Domus has cheese boards made from exotic Brazilian wood, colorful soaps from Afghanistan, handcrafted knickknacks, and even a small assortment of organic-cotton baby clothes. In order to bring in fresh goods, co-owners Luisa Cerutti and Nicki Lindheimer go on a monthlong trip overseas each year to gather ideas for merchandise and build relationships with new vendors. Much of what they bring back is handmade from “equitable and sustainable environments.” Some of their best-selling items are decorative pillows; hand-dyed, embroidered tapestries from Peru; wool throws from Italy; and stone gift boxes from Vietnam.
