Earthly Additions owner Clark Allen ensures that all of the home accessories in his Park Slope store are not only ecofriendly but people-friendly as well (no sweatshop products here). The small Park Slope shop with wooden floors and buttercup walls offers all kinds of unique handmade goods, from pineapple paper products to mango-wood candlesticks. There are fudge-scented soaps made to look like slices of chocolate cake, and glycerin soaps with scents like honey and green tea. Earthly Additions is also the only U.S. store to carry a collection of colorful, batik silk scarves crafted by at-risk girls from the Stung Treng Women's Development Center in Cambodia. Though Allen imports most of his inventory from Southeast Asia, he also carries Brooklyn’s own Naked Kandles, made from environmentally friendly soy and palm waxes.
