Co-owned by occasional Antiques Roadshow appraiser Barry Weber, his wife, and his mother (the store namesake, Edith), this rotating antique jewelry collection occupies two stores across the street from one another. Society ladies shop at both locations to find unique Victorian, Art Deco, or Renaissance Revival jewelry dating from 1780 to 1970. The store at 987 Madison houses the more expensive and rare pieces, with prices starting at five figures. The equally tiny store at 994 Madison carries less expensive items but maintains a similar selection of Oriental pearl necklaces, Kashmir sapphire earrings, vintage Tiffany diamonds, and 1940s Patek Philippe watches. Weber’s wife, a former Hollywood jewelry stylist, routinely lends pieces to celebrities for award shows and special events. Weber himself purchases the heirlooms from an established roster of clients, as well as from estate sales around the world; the store even has a ring once owned by George Washington.
