Designer Susan Lazar sells her collection of high-end baby clothes, Egg by Susan Lazar, in this sparsely adorned, bright Dumbo store. The styles are modern without being trendy, like cashmere layettes with matching hats and tiny cable-knit sweater dresses. The miniature clothes are a favorite among the fashion set, often featured in the pages of parenting mags and celeb weeklies (Trig Palin sported Lazar’s striped layette at the 2008 Republican National Convention). About half of the line’s products are organic, and a portion of the proceeds from each of the company’s limited-edition “love connections” T-shirts benefits different charitable organizations.
