This third generation-owned candy store has been a fixture of the Upper East Side since 1933. It's famous for the marzipan, made on the premises and available in whimsical shapes: carrots, pigs, ladybugs, strawberries, and a variety of pumpkins for Halloween Top treats: Truffles in rum, mocha and French chocolate. If you're throwing a party, try chocolates shaped like crayons, fish, rolls of film, horseshoes, and airplanes. A plastic orange pumpkin filled with candy, wrapped in cellophane and topped off with a bow makes a sweet gift.
