Despite what the name suggests, you won't find bolts of lamé or lycra inside this Prospect Heights shop, because the only fabric to be found is in the book of sample pieces that can be applied to the eclectic, cheerful furnishings for sale. Hands-on interior designer Demi Adeniran also offers custom window treatments, upholstery services and design guidance to clients out of this unassuming storefront, where you can either peruse her portfolio or browse the mix of mod sixties antiques and original home furnishings, like colorful custom leather cube chairs. The FIT alum and Parsons professor has given her shop a luxurious feel with scented candles, embroidered pillows, glassware and antique mirrors, all of which are for sale. There’s even some scattered surprise finds like vintage-looking reproductions of classic children's toys and one-of-a-kind women's jewelry, though these odds and ends are not replenished on a weekly basis like the furnishings are. Just don't drop by to inspect the goods without calling first, as this busy shop owner tends to keep irregular hours.
