The name of this East Village shop means “violet” in owners’ Luba Firchuk and Iryna Kowal’s native Ukraine. Hand-painted purple petals adorn the awning, and sales racks decorate the stoop of the walk-in-closet-sized consignment shop. Mostly catering to more mature women, Fialka carries a hodgepodge of brands — from Gap to Gucci — at a wide spectrum of price points. Working girls can find reasonably priced office staples like wool Theory pants, a rainbow of button-ups, and a green tweed suit from Barneys. There’s also a generous supply of casual duds like corduroy jackets, jeans, and sweaters. Floral Kate Spade heels and Nine West pumps hide underneath the racks, while accessories like a Coach purse and Tod's bag sit on the back-wall shelves.Consignment Guidelines
Would-be consigners should bring in current-season clothes and be prepared to sign a three-month contract. Firchuk prefers brand name designers but will take "anything that's pretty."
