With its stark color scheme, sculpted minimalist lighting, and televisions looping black-and-white films situated around the room, Flos feels more like a modern art museum than a store. A favorite of decorators, the Italian lighting manufacturer opened this location in May of 2010. Familiar and popular pieces include the curvy Arco floor lamp with a marble base and the Toio lamp, based on an old-fashioned car headlight. Some items venture into the outrageous, though, like Phillipe Starck’s gold AK-47 table lamp shaped like a gun. — Sara Hetland
