Lou Choklat has been selling antiques and vintage clothing at flea markets for years, but Foyer represents the first time she has collected all her quirky goods into one space. Situated in Boerum Hill, the shop is filled with rare and seemingly random finds. There is a broad collection of vintage women’s clothing from Scandinavia (along with vintage jewelry from Finland), a collection of rare 45s and albums of everything from Led Zeppelin to experimental jazz, rare Marvel comic books, old typewriters, and even some WWII-era aviator hats. The store is an easy place to while away some time—the eclectic selection of goods is housed in a charming space imbued with the coziness one would expect from a shop named after a vestibule.
