True to its mission statement, which stresses utilitarianism, the quality-conscious Swiss brand’s first stateside shop fully utilizes the address’ limited space, lining the walls with towers of industrial bags and accessories. Stacks of white cardboard shelves are dedicated to virtually endless variations of the company’s signature item, a weather-repellent messenger bag fashioned out of reclaimed truck tarpaulins that caters to the needs of both messengers and general commuters. Each bag is cut from a different tarp, giving choosy cyclists a number of options in terms of color and design; bicyclists can also pick up a number of colorful totes, handbags, wallets, iPad cases, and other such gear, all built with recycled materials taken from seat belts, airbags, and bicycle tubes.
