Former medical-sales rep Nhung Nguyen opened this spot with her husband, Don, in 2007. Its name is a tongue-in-cheek ode to Nguyen’s passion for golf and the argyle sweaters typically associated with the sport. The tiny, fashion-forward shop carries clothing and shoes for men and women by independent New York and European designers. There are meticulously chosen pieces from lines like Lorick, Lover, United Bamboo, and Opening Ceremony, along with a few Fred Perry polos. Luxurious leather bags by Gryson and Alice McCall, shoes by Rachel Comey, and trendy Karen Walker sunglasses fill out the women’s collection, while the menswear selection in the back is just as extensive: think Wood Wood cardigans, blazers by Rogues Gallery, and YMC slacks. — Eileen Conlan
