After opening a small shop-in-a-shop at ABC Carpet & Home, this CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist launched his first stand-alone boutique in fall 2009. Like his ABC digs, the space is edgy without being intimidating, with quirky details like wigged mannequin heads hanging from the ceiling in front. Concrete floors and matching charcoal walls provide a blank canvas for moody, romantic designs, like A-line tulle dresses, shrunken leather hoodies, and weathered button-ups. One rack is designated for menswear pieces (distressed leather jackets, tailored vests), and women’s accessories are housed up front, including supple leather handbags, vintage silver pendants by Charlie Bayer, and ornate bib necklaces by Rebecca Purcell. The designer has a long-standing collaboration with Liz Collins (he designed accessories for some of her past runway shows), and her avant-garde knits share the racks with his collection. The label’s design studio is located downstairs, and Graham himself can sometimes be found in the boutique mingling with shoppers.
