According to its eccentric owner, the misnamed General Art Co. has been framing the paintings of art-world big shots since 1971—so you’d better be serious when you bring that dogs-playing-poker watercolor in. Mainly concentrating on gallery and archival framing, General generally creates contemporary maple, oak, and fine-wood frames.

I have used General Art Framing for years. The owner, Mr. Chen, is knowledgeable and very helpful. His prices are extremely reasonable. I have brought him difficult-to-frame pieces from all over the world and he has never disappointed. I have never found anyone who does as good a job or is as much fun to work with.
