Eighth Avenue in Chelsea has long replaced Christopher Street in the Village as the Gay Man’s Main Drag. Which makes the equal play that womenswear gets with menswear at that particular branch of Gerry's something just shy of a miracle. In two adjoining storefronts, household names such as Seven, Ted Baker, and Scotch & Soda acknowledge the equality of the casually fashionable sexes. For him, there’s John Varvatos, vintage T-shirts, True Religion jeans, and a fair selection of hats and shoes; for her, there’s designer denim (like Stitch’s) plus a decent mix of undergarments.
