Profile
The West Village Goodwill isn’t your standard second-hand store. Instead of misfit toys and ratty T-shirts discarded from softball seasons long ago in a warehouse-like space, you’ll find vaulted ceilings and a mix of designer attire, all worn-in but not worn-out. The 3,000 square feet of carefully crafted retail space contains racks of women’s wear from Armani and Marc Jacobs, shoes from Gucci, Steve Madden, and Aldo, and a wall of purses that showcases items from brands such as Coach and Anne Taylor. The store is heavy on women’s apparel, but men can find dress shirts, jackets and blazers from labels like Pink in a small area near the back. There’s also a well-maintained library of current books for sale and a section of nearly new housewares. Prices are a bit higher than at other Goodwills, but this makes sense for a boutique that feels more Nordstrom Rack than thrift store.
