It’s all hats, all the time at this idiosyncratic, adorable Soho specialty shop, where headwear is high art. Store owner Linda Pagan, who, during her business-drab Wall Street days, built a rep for sporting stylish, color-infused toppers, has a real passion for the medium, and the talent to pick the right hat for the right faces. Hats are here for every taste: Fedoras, floppy sun shielders, and frilly cocktail numbers. Straw rules in summer, while winter means felt and convincing faux fur. Men yearning to complete that Gatsby look are in luck with the store’s high-quality line for men. Hats can be bought off the rack or handmade by one of the shop’s milliners; prices for handmade work are surprisingly reasonable. Those who wear Pagan’s fabulous confections; those possessed of a certain, self-confident nerve, inevitably become devoted, loyal customers.
