The owner of this tiny shop actually fell into the business by accident after her fashion-industry friends kept raving about the tunics and shawls she picked up while visiting her Pakistani husband’s family. Hello Sari sells a variety of these Middle Eastern tunics—from basic, solid-colored silks to intricate styles re-cut to accommodate a Western aesthetic. (The tenants of the building next door use them as curtains.)
