This modern menswear store champions “redneck chic,” offering masculine essentials chosen for function and durability. Owner Jess Draper, an Alabama native with a mountaineering background, combines classic American apparel with general-store wares, like deodorant, shaving cream, tape measures, and flashlights. The clothing includes casual standards like Levi's jeans, and Carhartt jackets, as well as dressier offerings from Bill's Khakis and Alashan Cashmere. A bright-orange fridge is tucked into a corner across from the large wall-mounted HDTV, usually tuned to sports. (Tongue-in-cheek handbooks on gentlemanly conduct are stacked beneath the screen.) Customers can request items they'd like to see in the store by writing them on a large chalkboard hanging near the entrance—early suggestions included long underwear and umbrellas.
