Profile
This imaginative menswear shop comes courtesy of Brian Cousins and Hicham Benmira, the duo behind Darr—the popular furniture store across the street. Their 500-square-foot space devoted to clothes is certainly masculine with its industrial iron-ceiling lights, antique Roman artifacts, and a large illuminated crucifix from a Southern Baptist church. (The store can feel a bit like a parochial school’s storage room.) The well-edited mix of designers—Rag & Bone, Engineered Garments, Paul Smith, and others—get a manly touch via rough-hewn garment racks and pipe-framed shelves. Aside from Russell moccasins, Billy Kirk canvas satchels, and Santa Maria Novella grooming products, some of the more distinct items come from the in-house line of vintage ties, wool sweaters, and linen shirts.
