Profile
All bare brick and sensuously lit concrete, Hotoveli brings to mind the VIP room of a nightclub. Owner Michael Adjiashvili imports trendy, high-end styles from Western Europe, and most of the shoppers here greet him by name before browsing through some of the newest (and to many Americans, unfamiliar) names in Italian, French, and British design. Destroyed-suede coats by Isaac Sellam and leather Belstaff bomber jackets hang on spotlit racks along with elegant black eveningwear from Vivienne Westwood, Dark Shadow, and Ilaria Nistri and men’s suits by Lanvin. The occasional glass cabinet displays accessories like vintage motorcycle helmets, sumptuous python-skin handbags, and ankle-high suede boots.
