Dreams of opening a store where shoppers could browse all of fashion’s high-end spectrum in one place led brothers Khajak and Haro Keledjian to open Intermix in 1993. Since then, its huge success has spurred four more New York locations from the West Village to the Upper East Side. As its name suggests, Intermix provides a wide-range of the latest European and American fashion styles with smaller fashion-forward labels like LaRok, Mint, and Ya Ya hanging on the rack next to some of the industry’s biggest namesóChloe, DVF, and Michael Kors. The stock ranges from bags and boots to denim and dresses but since the stores are relatively small the selection within each label (or trend) runs shallow. If you don’t grab it the first time you see it, it probably won’t be there the next time.
