There’s a reason Susan Nethero, “the bra whisperer” from the Lifetime series How to Look Good Naked, appears everywhere from Oprah to Tyra to What Not to Wear. Nethero and fit specialists from her Atlanta-based store, Rigby & Peller, can detect problems by simply observing how a customer’s current bra fits—no measuring tape involved. At Rigby & Peller, in-store fit specialists will select a mix of styles the client might like, based on her responses to a checklist of bra woes and wants. The vast selection encompasses basic styles by Marie Jo, flowery delicate looks by Simone Perele, and full-cup fashions by PrimaDonna. Walk-ins are welcome but face a possible one-to-two hour wait; it’s better to book time with the fit specialists at least one day in advance, online or by phone. Or stop by anytime to browse swimsuits, pajamas, and odds-and-ends like underarm shields and nipple concealment strips. The no-frills New York location was a large lingerie shop long before Intimacy moved in, so it attracts locals who have been buying undergarments there for decades, as well as shoppers who come for the fitting expertise. — Caroline Kinneberg
