This cozy boutique feels more like Soho than the Lower East Side, stocking handbags, dresses, and accessories from a range of European and local indie designers. Emre and Aydan Burnaz set up shop in 2008 as newlyweds—she came from a career in the textile business, and he, a retail background in leather goods. The feminine, brightly colored dresses are made by designers like Buqet, Csilla Somogyi, and Voom, embellished with sparkly detailing, ruffled edges, and decorative baubles. Many of the accessories are locally made, like funky fingerless gloves. Italian leather handbags decked with gold buckles and studs crowd the tall shelves, including patent-leather styles from Pietro Alessandro, shoulder bags from Anteprima Nueve, Sabina clutches, and Latico fold-over clutches. The handbag selection tops out at around $400—a welcome reprieve from pricey designer boutiques nearby—and new styles arrive each season. Shoppers are offered a tiny eye-shaped glass amulet at the register—a personal touch, believed to ward off bad luck in the Burnaz’s native Turkey.
