A former assistant to both London high-society jeweler Theo Fennel and the Prince of Wales, Jane Eadie has certainly been exposed to a fine bauble or two in her lifetime. So when the globetrotting Brit decided to place roots in New York, she opened a fabulous store of her own—this tiny shop in the back streets of Nolita—where one-of-a-kind jewels and gifts from around the world draw Saturday shoppers, eclectic collectors, and even celebrities. Pieces are dramatically showcased on the shop’s walls and within glass cases, from an outrageously oversized semi-precious necklace from Argentinean designer Celedonio to Brazilian-made wooden cuffs from JMR Fontan. The shop’s diminutive size isn’t the only thing that makes this an intimate and personal buying experience, as it’s not uncommon for Eadie herself to discuss the history and background of the jewels with potential buyers.
