After collecting personal vintage pieces for decades and selling their finds at word-of-mouth trunk shows in the Hamptons, JBM owner Laurie Margolis opened this store in October 2008. The 800-square-foot space consists of ten racks organized by color, complemented by a modern black-and-white color scheme, hardwood floors, and an old black glass chandelier that was found at a New Mexico flea market. Signature pieces include sixties red-leather mod dresses, seventies Halston Grecian gowns, and casual workwear like classic Yves St. Laurent shirts. Gold-plated necklaces cover the countertops and classic Chanel bags adorn the walls. Some of the items have been featured in the Sex and the City movie and on Ugly Betty, and other bold-name clients include Linda Ramone (widow of Johnny), Rose McGowan, and Lisa Marie Presley. The winter collection focuses on retouched furs, while summer brings an assortment of peasant dresses. The spot also offers short-term rentals for rare gowns and accessories, like a one-of-a-kind Pucci dress for $200 a night.
