This hideaway Gramercy eyewear shop makes the most of its limited space by keeping its stock selective and stylish: The six smallish cases brim with male and female specs from names like Versace, Prada, Donna Karan, and Armani, the styles ranging from bookishly thick to wiry thin. There are a few rimless, Palin-esque picks in the mix, as well as some bug-eyed sunglasses by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Jimmy Choo, who gets his own case in the back of the store. Also in the back are a small optician’s office for eye exams, as well as an eyeglass-repair shop. Prices tend to be on the high side, but the store does accept most union health-care plans.
