Spotted: Chic twenty- and thirtysomething gals-about-town buying up Eleanor Waldorf’s stylish frocks (a.k.a. real-life designer Abigail Lorick's line) at West Village boutique Jessie James. The boutique is one of the few in the city that sells the popular Gossip Girl–featured Lorick label, which nicely reflects the shop's fashion philosophy: fun, stylish pieces suitable for both the office and after-hour cocktails. Opened in 2007, this trendier, more upscale version of the original Hoboken Jessie James (a mix of owner Jessica Caulfield and husband James's monikers) has a Zen-like vibe, with seafoam-green walls and a gold, spray-painted twig chandelier, known as the "branchelier.” In stock are colorful camis, silky tops, premium denim, and plenty of dresses. From a demure flowy pale-pink floral number by Umi Kim to a whimsical smiling sheep-festooned Karen Zambos shift, the shop carries a dress for almost every occasion. Ecofriendly fashionistas will find green brands Loomstate and Bono's Edun. And a small inventory of handbags and shoes, along with reasonably priced gold necklaces, earrings, and cuff bracelets, light up the store's pitch-black shelves. No time to shop?
