This venue is closed.

The onetime home to Delicacies gave way in early 2007 to a second gourmet marketplace with a deli counter and a few tables for noshing. Wooden shelves stock diverse sundries like Al-wadi flavored waters from Lebanon, Walkers Scottish short bread, Canadian maple syrup, and flavored vinegars and oils by small-scale American brands. A tiny freezer holds single-serving Ciao Bella gelato and Junior’s cheesecake; sandwiches are standard issue. It’s the weekend buffet, however, that separates Jeune’s from other food shops. The owners nod to the neighborhood’s Caribbean roots with a smorgasbord of hot homemade eats, including steamed okra, plantains, fried and steamed fish, and a peppery West Indian goat stew named, unfortunately, “goat water.”
