Jonathan Adler’s Brooklyn outpost offers just what shoppers have come to expect from the interior decor household name: bright bursts of color amid home furnishings that display a playful sense of humor. From pottery collections like Vice (a series of striped canisters with cheeky labels like “poppers,” “glitter,” and “kitty crack”) to needlepoint Zodiac pillows stitched with the names and symbols of astrological signs, nearly all the fun furnishings in the store were designed by Adler (save for a handful of items, like two C. Jere–designed sculptures hanging on the walls). Personalization is also for sale: Monograms can be added to items like pillowcases and table trays, and rugs’ size, color, and pattern can all be customized to a customer’s liking. A good go-to for anyone on the hunt for a hostess or housewarming gift, the shop has candle collections, diffusers, and even Adler-designed board games. Somewhat smaller than most of its Manhattan counterparts, it offers less of Adler’s furniture collection than his other stores, but it is filled to the brim with his other merchandise—just don’t turn around too quickly or you might knock over a candle display.

Key Departments

Adler continues to stock his distinctive ceramics in bright colors; the jade-glazed pottery is especially popular, as are the boldly patterned bedding and pillows.
