Judith Stiles (mother of the actress Julia) closed her original Judith Stiles Ceramics shop on Bleecker Street in 2001, but in November 2008 she opened Judith Stiles Designs, a ceramics and home decor shop on Warren Street. The store offers Stiles's own nature-inspired ceramic platters, bowls, and dishes in a tranquil setting, with earthy tan and coral walls. The majority of the pieces feature vibrant blues and corals imprinted with leaf designs, but her whimsical children's lamps are decked with bright polka dots and stripes. Child-size chairs and chaise lounges in vivid prints, pillows, glassware, and accessories from artists and designers across the country round out the selection. Best-sellers include kitschy, color-saturated ceramic cake stands, Wendy Gardner’s creepy-cute Naughty Naughty Pets stuffed animals, and rustic benches made from railroad ties and tiny Barbie accessories like chairs, plants, and tea sets. — Jacquelyn Lewis
