Profile
The owners of this kid-friendly, big-top-sized shop are serious about one thing: Play is the work of childhood, and learning is the happy product. Since the early ‘90s, parents, teachers and savvy gift seekers have flocked to this independent toy emporium to find mind-engaging activities for curious tykes. The shop houses everything from make-it-yourself piggy banks and tea sets to general store props and lemonade stand pushcarts for future entrepreneurs; wide, stroller-friendly aisles lead to the back section, where the shelves are lined with starter chess sets, science kits, board games and hardcover books. Snuggly infant suits and accessories occupy the middle of the store, but the only wardrobe items fit for bigger kids are career-themed costumes, including executive chef uniforms and NASA space suits. The front of the shop hosts bundles of invitingly soft plush puppets.
