Chunky knit sweaters and bags in exotic skins are a dramatic switch from the Greek tavernas found at nearby Astoria boutiques. Many of the items here come from owner Kristie Foster-Chapman’s cool-hunting in Japan, Italy, and Scandinavia. This fresh little shop, next to a laundry mat on an unassuming residential block in Queens, has the kind of daring, artistic styles one would expect in a Lower East Side boutique. Up-and-coming brands such as Geren Ford and Mike & Chris are artfully displayed next to fedoras by Tracy Watts and leather bags by Divine Tribe NYC. Pretty dresses in short, trapeze silhouettes run from $100 to $400, while Deneer jeans start around $180—but can be scored for $75 during sales.
